German Language Online Courses Reimbursement for Doctoral Students
Winter Semester 2026-27
+++ The below information has been provided by the Doctoral Convention and refers specifically to the winter semester 2026-27. It has not been determined yet whether there will be a similar offer in the future. ++++
Please note:

You are eligible for a partial reimbursement of your course fee if you fulfill all of the following requirements:
- You are actively enrolled at Heidelberg University as a doctoral student for the semester in which you are requesting reimbursement (i.e., you have paid your semester fees). Your enrollment status will be verified using your Uni-ID and matriculation number.
- You complete your course obtaining a certificate of regular attendance ("Teilnahmebescheinigung" including the word “regelmäßig”), i.e. you have missed no more than 6 classes. This information will be sent to the Doctoral Convention by the German language course coordinator’s office.
- You cannot receive, have not received, and will not receive other external funding for your course fee.

You submit all required information and documents via the online form by February 12, 2027. Please click here:

- No exceptions can be made for late reimbursement applications. Please refrain from contacting the International Study Centre or the Doctoral Convention with requests after the deadline.
- You should not e-mail any documents / information regarding reimbursement of the German Language Course to the Doctoral Convention.
- Only if you have not received your reimbursement after three months from the submission deadline, you may contact the Doctoral Convention:
- The reimbursement is expected to cover up to € 180.00 per person, depending on availability of funds.
