Preparation courses in German
4-week intensive courses for foreign students
only for newly arriving foreign students (ERASMUS or bilateral exchange programmes) enrolled at Heidelberg University

When and Where:
Placement test (Aula INF 684):
Instruction Mondays Fridays from 9:00 a.m. 12:30 / 1:20 p.m. (80 hours in total).
All classes are held at Max-Weber-Haus, Ziegelhäuser Landstraße 17.
Classes, Content and Teaching Material:
Instruction is provided at three levels, depending on levels of proficiency:
- Elementary (A1, A2):
For students with basic knowledge of German.
- Intermediate (B1, B2):
For students with solid knowledge of German.
- Advanced (C1):
For students with an advanced knowledge of German who aim to improve their competence in an academic context.
The individual course content will be determined by the results of the placement test. The teaching materials will be announced at the beginning of each course.
All courses include exercises in German grammar, composition, reading and writing exercises, listening comprehension, vocabulary, phonetics, regional studies, and assistance/orientation with regard to studying in Heidelberg.

- Reading course "German literature" (B2 and above)
- Philosopy (B2 and above)
- Concert (classical music)
